
Researcher
Anastasios Saratsis is a Biologist and graduate of the University of Würzburg in Germany. He holds a Master’s degree in Public Health from the School of Medicine at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He completed his PhD in Veterinary Parasitology at the University of Veterinary Medicine in Vienna, supported by a Marie Curie fellowship. His research focuses on epizootiology and the development, evaluation, and implementation of integrated approaches for the control of parasitic diseases, primarily in livestock. His main research interests revolve around vector-borne diseases, with a particular emphasis on ticks and tick-borne pathogens. He has participated in more than 20 research projects funded at both national and European levels, as well as in clinical trials of veterinary pharmaceutical products. He has authored over 30 scientific publications in peer-reviewed international journals. Since October 2017, he has been serving as a Researcher at the Veterinary Research Institute, with a specialization in Veterinary Epidemiology.
